ABOUT DUSTY OEDEKOVEN

I am an analytical and interpersonal leader who brings over 20 years of experience in the agriculture industry with expertise in veterinary public health and regulatory animal health. As chief veterinarian at the National Pork Board, I have the privilege of leading a talented swine health team that is dedicated to serving America’s pork producers by keeping pigs healthy and protecting the U.S. herd from threats like foreign animal disease (FAD) and endemic disease. A primary responsibility of my role at NPB, alongside the swine health team and in collaboration with industry partners, is to develop a comprehensive National Swine Health Strategy that provides the industry with a cohesive framework to achieve a healthier U.S. herd and tackle producers’ most pressing health challenges. My expertise includes managing populations and their herds, disease management, prevention, diagnostics, and collaboration with agencies, producers and veterinary professionals to find solutions for global challenges.
