About Dustin Nelson

My college experience has been fulfilling and I believe it has taught me the importance of goal setting and hard work. My Bachelor of Science in Business, with an accounting and finance concentration, ensures I am able to complement a company’s financial team while learning their business model. Making the Dean’s List while playing four years of football, founding the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, and serving as the supervisor of the athletic facility, has taught me the importance of goal setting, hard work, and time management. My Endowment Fund experience under Dr. Cooley (VP of Steak N’ Shake/Biglari Holdings) created my passion to learn and participate in the financial industry. I was the lead person on the Fund performing equity research and analysis. My initial role, providing most of the quantitative research, was time consuming but I found the discovery process enjoyable completing the analysis. I entered large quantities of data from various companies’ 10-Ks using Excel Macros and Pivot Charts to sort through large quantities of data, as well as preparing 30-40 minute PowerPoint presentations in a manner that allowed the audience to better understand the company and its value.
