ABOUT DUŠKA RADOSAVLJEVIĆ

Serbian-born, British-grown and Swedish-based creative professional, teacher and academic with leadership experience and research interests in innovation, knowledge-creation, documentation, performance-making and collaborative ways of working. Have pioneered the professional practice of dramaturgy in the UK since 2002. Also delivering editorial services for Cambridge University Press, Exeter University Press, Contemporary Theatre Review, Intellect etc. My mission is to bring creativity into academia, and discipline into creative practice. I studied theatre, communication, cultural studies, political theatre, and dramaturgy. As part of my Aural/Oral Dramaturgies project (20••••22), I have led the creation of an open access repository which contains over 80 educational recordings of conversations with selected artists and scholars and accompanying transcripts, including a series of commissioned courses and masterclasses. This work has received the Elliott Hayes Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dramaturgy (LMDA 2022) and the ATHE-ASTR 2022 Award for Excellence in Digital Scholarship. My books include: Aural/Oral Dramaturgies: Theatre in the Digital Age (Routledge 2023), Theatre Criticism: Changing Landscapes (Methuen Bloomsbury 2016), The Mums and Babies Ensemble: A Manual (Institute of Art and Practice of Dissent at Home 2015), Theatre-Making: The Interplay Between Text and Performance (Palgrave 2013), The Contemporary Ensemble: Interviews with Theatre-Makers (Routledge 2013). Also: arts journalism for specialist publications such as The Stage Newspaper, Exeunt, The Theatre Times and more recently SEEStage. Part of Edinburgh Festival Fringe as reviewer and awards adjudicator 19••••10. I was employed as the Dramaturg at the Northern Stage ensemble 20••••05 and as part of the education department at the Royal Shakespeare Company 20••••06.
