Developed a linear viscoelastic model for silicone rubbers through static and dynamic experiments in wet tissue lab. • Constructed complex cross-sectional geometry of jellyfish-like fin based on an actual robot in AutoCAD.• Created a 2D axisymmetric finite element model of jellyfish-like locomotor in COMSOL Multiphysics, mimicking complex jellyfish flapping motion. The numerical model simulated qualitatively similar behavior to that observed experimentally.• Assisted in developing control platform for the silicone jellyfish-like locomotor in MATLAB.• Gained experience in simulating non-linear material, particle image velocimetry (PIV), static & dynamic structural analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and cluster computing.B) Structural Optimization of External Fuel Tank• Modeled simplified model of External Fuel Tank of Space Shuttle in Solidworks.
