Duriya Farooqui is a seasoned executive and corporate board director with deep leadership experience across the public and private sectors. Known for her expertise in business transformation and operational excellence, she has a proven record of driving strategic growth and fiscal discipline in complex organizations.Duriya currently serves on the board of directors of global companies including Intercontinental Hotels Group (NYSE: IHG), Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE: ICE), The New York Stock Exchange, and Barclays Execution Services. She brings expertise in governance, strategy, and policy to her board roles, which span technology, financial services, travel and hospitality. She also chairs the NYSE Regulatory Oversight Committee and co-chairs the NYSE Board Advisory Council, advancing best practices for corporate boards. In addition, Duriya is a trusted leadership coach and mentor with The Exco Group. She enjoys working closely with C-suite leaders at global companies, to help develop high-performing teams and expand leadership impact. She is a frequent speaker on topics related to board effectiveness and leadership.Before her current board roles, Duriya was President of Supply Chain Innovation at Georgia Pacific, Executive Director of Atlanta Committee for Progress, and Principal at Bain & Company. Her distinguished career in public service includes serving as Chief Operating Officer for the City of Atlanta from 2011 to 2013. In this role, Duriya led all operating departments of the city and transformed its $2B operation to improve service delivery, institute landmark pension reforms, reduce crime to a historic low, open an international terminal at the busiest airport in the world, and negotiate the public-private financing of the Mercedes-Benz stadium.Early in her career, Duriya worked at the Center for International Development at Harvard University, The World Bank, and the Center for Global Development. Duriya has a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from Hampshire College and earned an M.P.A. in International Development from Harvard University. Deeply invested in community, Duriya has served on several non-profit boards including the Woodruff Arts Center, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta, Atlanta Housing Authority, and Agnes Scott College. Duriya currently sits on the Board of Directors of Piedmont Healthcare and the Harvard Kennedy School Alumni Board.
