ABOUT DURE AKRAM

I am an OPED Editor at Daily Times Pakistan, where I oversee the production and quality of the opinion and national pages, as well as write editorials on various topics, such as politics, social issues, and international affairs. I have been working in the newspapers industry for over a decade, starting as an Assistant Editor in 2016, where I edited and pitched stories, designed and edited the opinion and national pages, and assisted the OPED Editor. I have developed strong skills in editorial, writing, creative writing, statistical tools, and data analysis, as well as a keen interest in global issues and current affairs. I recently graduated from University of Bedfordshire with a degree in law, hoping to combine my passion for journalism and human rights. I have a Bachelor\'s Degree in Psychology and Political Science from Bryn Mawr College, where I learned about the psychological and political aspects of human behavior and society. I have also interned at the United Nations, where I supported the Permanent Representative of Pakistan in covering the meetings and conferences at the UN headquarters. I am motivated by the desire to inform, educate, and empower the public through my work as a journalist and a lawyer.
