WECC is the regional entity responsible for coordinating and promoting Bulk Electric System reliability in the Western Interconnection under delegated authority from the North American Reliability Corporation and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. In early 2014 its governance changed to an Independent Board, supported by an Industry based Members Advisory Committee.Elected as founding member of the Members Advisory Committee after WECC restructuring representing electric business users of the Bulk Electric System. My career reflects a wealth of experience in the development, design, construction, operation, and financing of geothermal, renewable and gas fired power plants in the United States, South East Asia, and New Zealand. I have been active with the Western Electricity Coordination Council, one of six regional reliability organizations overseeing grid reliability and resiliency in the United States for over 15 years, holding a position on the hybrid board for 7 years and Chairing the Members Advisory Committee for 3 years.With an extensive background in power industry asset management as an executive, an engineer and as a consultant, I thoroughly understand the business and the challenges power companies are facing today.In my previous position as the Director - Corporate Development - Power Services at NAES, a leading provider of services to the power generation and related infrastructure markets, I led the development and implementation of plans for the strategic development and growth of the company, both organically and inorganically through acquisition.As a Senior Project Manager, for SAIC, a $10B Fortune 500 defense contractor, I helped power companies make well-informed strategic decisions. In a management consulting capacity I have guided companies through the identification and implementation of growth strategies. I’ve spearheaded the performance of due diligence projects and the valuation of power assets associated with potential financing or refinancing transactions. I’ve helped companies to implement procurement strategies and to make tactical decisions around the development of infrastructure.Additionally, I’m a skilled engineer leveraging 25+ years of progressive, comprehensive experience in managing the technical details of power industry asset management. I draw upon my background as a VP of Compliance and a VP of Asset Management for Calpine Corporation, the world\'s largest provider of geothermal energy, and largest natural gas fueled power producer in North America.
