About Dulce Torres
Dulce Torres is a registered architect in Mexico; she graduated with Suma Cum Laude at UNAM in 2002, has a Diploma in Interior Architecture and is a LEED Accredited Professional.Since 2003 Dulce Torres has been actively involved in all phases of architecture, giving support in the organization and development of several projects in healthcare, sports, residential, education, institutional and urban sectors. Her responsibility has been focused on direct contact with the client and consultants involved for the planning and coordination of the project. Dulce has worked in 11 different countries, among those are: USA, China, India, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Costa Rica, Honduras, Trinidad & Tobago, Panama & Bulgaria.Dulce has obtained first place at international architecture and city planning contests in France & Japan. In 2003, she was awarded the Gabino Barreda Medal; the highest recognition in Mexico for the student who graduates with the best academic performance on her/his generation. In 2010 HKS awarded her as the Outstanding Project Architect of the year, for her achievements and contributions towards architectural excellence. In 2011 Dulce participated in the AIA Dallas Emerging Leaders Program. In 2013 AIA Latinos in Architecture recognized her as an exemplar of design talent in the Dallas Area. In 2014 she is honored to be one of the “40 Under 40” recognized by BD+C.“I have to say my work is delightfully challenging; it requires a big level of commitment and professionalism. I have a passion for understanding new cultures and different ways of operating. The commitment of designing and building a hospital that a “country has never seen before” -as described by our client in Trinidad & Tobago- is what drives me to continually full fill the professional vows I made when I became a registered architect”.Dulce Torres has recently joined forces with Amy Biediger at AEC Strategic Talent, bringing an added value to the company given her extensive architectural experience. Known for her relational and perceptive approach, Dulce has a natural ability to recognize the strengths of both individuals and organizations and bring them together to create meaningful and effective collaborations. She is currently focused on developing strategic connections between professionals and AEC firms, helping both grow and thrive.
