About Debra Stalk

Debra Stalk, Artist & Owner of Okwarikowa Originals, LLC started this family-owned, Indigenous-owned & woman-owned business to bring the rich culture of her Haudensaunee heritage to the world. We offer authentic & original Native American graphics on all our apparel items. Additionally, Deb offers workshops on making Ribbon Skirts, Beadwork & other regalia handcrafted items. Her workshops entitled \"The Good Mind Ribbon Skirt Workshop\" is geared to empowering women to create community while learning sewing and other Indigenous crafts. These workshops have taken place at the Whitney Museum in NYC, the American Indian Community House and several colleges & universities. Additionally, Debra is a consultant at the American Indian Community House where she offers administrative support in program development, grant writing, and strategic planning. From January, 2016 to December 2018, she ran her own small business in Central Florida \"The Creative Native\". This was a mobile art studio which specialized in teaching the Bob Ross wet-on-wet technique. Previously she served as the Associate Director of Admissions at the Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business where she oversaw enrollment and systems management for the school’s top-ranked MBA, graduate and doctorate programs. Ms. Stalk brings over 20 years of experience in higher education in areas of admissions, program development and enrollment management focusing on technology. Her responsibilities included recruitment and retention of qualified applicants for enrollment into the Crummer Graduate School of Business.Former experience includes being a part of the founding staff and faculty at The Commonwealth Medical College (currently Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine) where she served as the Director of Admissions and Associate Director of the Masters in Biomedical Science Program. This position included the writing, editing and submission of accreditation documents related to admissions and diversity initiatives for the creation of the 130th medical school in the United States. In this role, she also served on the AMCAS Advisory Board.Debra\'s background also includes student affairs, diversity education and program management at NYU School of Medicine where she founded the Native American Mentoring Program, managed grants, scholarships and programs for graduate and medical students and served on the Board of Directors for the Society of Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science.
