As a distinguished technology professional with over 20 years of excellence in complex distributed systems, my focus is on the use of technology to simplify complex problems, and the realization of measurable value to enable sustainable teams and successful new product introductions.I have worked in many technical roles, from strategic consulting to founder to team lead and department lead, for a wide range of organizations spanning startups through Fortune 500 corporations. Some career highlights include the creation of one of the most widely used distributed storage platforms, a successful startup exit, running an R&D group, and guiding early stage technology explorations and investigations through technology transfer, new product incubation and introduction and successful go-to-market product development and deployment.I have been involved in the storage industry for over two decades, with additional experience in a wide range of problem spaces including embedded systems software and hardware, geospatial data processing, financial cryptography, immersive multimedia, object storage, and large-scale distributed systems.I am a senior member of the ACM, participate in multiple standards bodies, including NVMe and SNIA, and I have been awarded over 80 patents. I am also a board member for the Open Source Hardware Association.Other areas of experience, both professionally and personally include medical imaging systems, PACS, DICOM, SCADA, IoT/IIoT, AMR, embedded systems, and real-time operating systems.As a hobby, I build IIoT networking systems and Eurorack synthesizer modules.
