Dan Shachtman co-manages the alternative investments arm of the Barnett Family Office. In that role, Dan has management responsibility over all of Barnett Capital’s business lines.Dan initially assumed responsibility for the growth and management of the firm’s industrial real estate portfolio. In a series of well-timed sales and purchases, he transitioned the portfolio from older product in the O’Hare marketplace to the national presence of institutional-quality assets, which are the focus of the firm to this day. Dan also built the Barnett Capital Sale-Leaseback business, cementing Barnett Capital’s reputation for helping entrepreneurs seize opportunities with quick and certain closings.Dan came to Barnett Capital from the high-tech industry, where he was a top sales manager for an internet company until 2002. Prior to his work at the Internet company, Dan was a financial consultant at Merrill Lynch, where he worked since his graduation from the University of Iowa with a bachelor of arts in business.
