ABOUT DAVID VAGO

I am a former Associate Professor at Vanderbilt University, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and Vanderbilt Brain Institute. I am currently on the faculty at UPenn as a Capstone Advisor for the Master of Applied Positive Psychology Program and Research Associate at Brigham & Women\'s Hospital. I am a Scientific Advisor to the wellbeing and health technology industry, a Research Consultant for the meditation and psychedelic research community, and public speaker. I also serve as President of the International Society for Contemplative Research. I am an advisory board member for several centers focusing on Mind-Body and Brain Health, including the Thich Nhat Hanh Center for Mindfulness at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and the Sadhguru Center for a Conscious Planet at Harvard Medical School. Over the last 15 years, I have led a multi-pronged program of research and education at Weill Cornell, Harvard, and Vanderbilt University Medical Schools focused on the cognitive and behavioral neuroscience supporting integrative health and mind and body practices. I was the Director of Research at the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine, Senior Research Scientist for the Mind and Life Institute, and Research Lead for the wellbeing company, Roundglass. As a thought leader in neuroscience and mind-body health, I excel at the intersection of translational research, digital health innovation, science strategy and communication. I am committed to advancing the field of contemplative science, leveraging scalable technology, and enhancing human potential towards flourishing. My career spans both academia and the digital health industry, where I\'ve transformed complex scientific data into actionable insights that fuel innovation and inform clinical and content-product decision-making. With expertise in neuropharmacology, brain imaging, science communication, and clinical trials, I bridge the gap between cutting-edge science and scalable solutions in commercial application.
