ABOUT TRAVIS D. BRANDY
With over 20 years in the field of education, I am an exceptionally organized, data-driven Administrator and the Senior Director in the Educational Transformation Office at the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). Dedicated to the development of equitable educational settings, I leverage a firm understanding of K-12 instructional programs and systems implementation to ensure all students are college and career ready.In my current leadership role, I facilitate the effective implementation of the District’s Black Student Achievement Plan, Academic English Mastery Program, and Priority School support, focusing on students\' academic and social-emotional well-being. I am a specialist in Equity in Education, Performance Improvement, and Community Partnerships, often coordinating with stakeholders to establish peace-building and safe passage programs.Throughout my career, I have delivered measurable results in student success and institutional growth:• Successfully increased A-G course completion (C or better) from 43% to 70%.• Overhauled behavior modification plans to reduce suspensions and detentions by 95%.• Expanded opportunities for underrepresented students, increasing GATE identification by 85% and raising Black and Latinx participation in AP/Honors courses from 22% to 60%.• Implemented full inclusion for 100% of students with mild to moderate disabilities into general education settings.Recognized for my excellence in leadership, I was awarded the Associated Administrators of Los Angeles Secondary Administrator of the Year in 2019, while serving as Principal of Los Angeles High School. Most recently I received the Outstanding Leadership in Education Award from the CA Association of African American Superintendents and Administrators in March 2025. I served on the executive board of the Council of Black Administrators for seven years, and as President from 20••••25. I hold an Ed.D. in Educational Administration from Pepperdine University, where his research focused on cooperative learning and student achievement. I am committed to incorporating new educational trends and instructional strategies to optimize effectiveness for all learners.
