About Thomas Mathew
More than 15 years experience in Pediatric cardiac surgeries. Performed more than surgeries in children with good short term and long term results. Perfection is my passion. Special interest in neonatal cardiac surgery, arch repairs, myocardial protection, complex pulmonary artery reconstructions. Developed instruments and techniques for minimally invasive Pediatric cardiac surgery. Completed my education in Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences And Technology and spent my foundations years there as an assistant professor in Pediatric cardiac surgery. Started a unit at Lisie Hospital Kochi where we performed 700+ cases and helped to kickstart the model cardiac care for children, Hrudyam for the government of Kerala. In 2020 moved to Prince Sultan cardiac care hospital, Riyadh as a Senior consultant. That’s where I gained interest in pulmonary artery reconstruction.Now working as a Program director of Pediatric cardiac surgery at Star Hospital in Hyderabad, where we perform around 450 Pediatric cardiac surgeries per annum mostly to the undeserved population with complex heart diseases with excellent results. Traveller, techno-geek, history lover, canoer…… well most things in this beautiful world are interesting to me.
