About Derichard McCoy
I am Dr. Derichard McCoy, an Assistant Professor of Sport Management at Benedict College and founder of Football I-Q™, an AI-powered recruiting and athlete development ecosystem created to help overlooked football athletes get discovered, ranked, and developed through data-driven evaluation.My work sits at the intersection of sport analytics, HBCU athlete exposure, AI-enhanced recruiting intelligence, and social-emotional development in youth sports. As a scholar-practitioner, I integrate research, technology, and field experience to create meaningful opportunities for athletes and strengthen sport management education.I teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Sport Finance, Analytics, Governance, Leadership, Personnel & Operations, while mentoring students through research, service-learning, and real-world sport projects.I am actively publishing research in SEL in youth sports, competitive balance and structural inequity within the FBS, and AI-driven recruiting evaluation models.
