I have over 12 years of experience working in emergency departments ranging from rural community hospitals to level I trauma centers. During my tenure in emergency medicine, I was involved in multiple hospital committees, including pharmacy and therapeutics committees, ethics committees, and I served as a liaison between an orthopedics department and the emergency department. I was also actively involved in EMS as an assistant director of EMS, as well as involvement in the education of the EMTs, paramedics and fire department staff.I am currently interested in research and education in the field of Phlebology. Specific current interests include deep vein thrombosis and thrombophilias, as well as innovative treatments for varicose vein disease and its complications. I am also interested in furthering the health and well being of my patients by encouraging active personal involvement in health, exercise and nutrition.Specialties: Phlebology, Emergency Medicine

   am Dr. Sonja Stiller. I am a Diplomat of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine (Phlebology) and am board certified in Emergency Medicine. My specialty is in the treatment of Varicose Vein Disease, Chronic Venous Stasis, Venous ulceration and Post Thrombotic Syndrome, along with their associated symptoms including leg swelling, restless leg syndrome and leg cramps. I also can provide care for cosmetic concerns related to vein disease, including the treatment of spider veins, thread veins, facial and hand veins.I graduated from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1995 with my medical degree, receiving awards for excellence and promise in the field of Emergency Medicine during my training.My residency program was completed in Emergency Medicine at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, concentrating on trauma, critical care, and pediatric trauma. After 13 years of serving in Emergency Departments in Philadelphia and various emergency departments in northeast Ohio, most recently at the Geauga County Medical Center, I chose to specialize in the area of venous and lymphatic medicine.I received specific training in venous medicine (phlebology) through the Vein Clinics of America in Chicago and worked with the Vein Clinics of America in Beachwood, Ohio, from 20••••13. I am excited to be involved in the field of phlebology on a national level through committee participation with both the American College of Phlebology and the American College of Phlebology Foundation. I am happy to bring my skills and expertise in the care of venous and lymphatic disease back ‘home’ to Lake and Geauga County, and am pleased to serve all of northeast Ohio with my practice – the Center For Advanced Vein Care (CAVC) – in Mentor, Ohio.
