Dr. Sean Williams is the Superintendent of Eaton RESA. Dr. Williams provides cross-functional leadership and coordination to plan, organize, implement and evaluate the delivery of all early childhood, special education, special education, general education, prevention and CTE programs, services and support provided by Eaton RESA to local constituents and the community. Dr. Williams is a founding member of the Capitol Area Educators Network and serves as a board member for the Capital Area College Access Network and the Future of Learning Council. Dr. Williams is also an advisor for MICHAuto’s Michigan Mobility Talent Consortium. Prior to the superintendency, Dr. Williams was the Deputy Superintendent for Eaton RESA. Dr. Williams came to Eaton RESA from Ingham ISD where he served as the Director of Student Instructional Services and was also an Adjunct Professor for the Educational Administration Department at Michigan State University’s College of Education. Before working at Ingham ISD, Dr. Williams was an Academic Consultant with an expertise in MTSS at Michigan State University and the program coordinator Michigan Fellowship of Instructional Leaders program which is based out of the Office of K-12 Outreach at Michigan State University. In the Fellowship program, Dr. Williams worked with school leadership teams to develop their ability to design and implement substantive initiatives that improve student achievement.Dr. Williams has also spent time in schools and classrooms to examine implications of urban education in the United Kingdom and Azerbaijan. Dr. Williams has received a number of academic awards for his research and has been invited to national conferences to present his work on the role of principals in district support models and policy implementation. Earlier in his career, Dr. Williams was an award-winning classroom teacher and a veteran middle school principal who led a low-performing school and increased his students’ overall achievement to the highest grade, “A,” in just three years. Dr. Williams holds a dual Ph.D. from Michigan State University in K-12 Educational Administration and Educational Policy and certificates in Urban Education, Leading for Equity and Justice, and DEI in the Workplace. Sean’s top publications focus on school principals and their role in policy implementation in the Journal of Education Policy, the Journal of School Public Relations and a chapter in “Emerging Issues and Trends in Education: Global Perspectives on Race and Gender in Education\"
