Scott A. Siegel, MD, DDS, FACS, FICS, FAAP. is the first and only Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in the United States to earn the distinction of both Fellow of the International College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Siegel is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and Clinical Assistant Professor at Stony Brook Dental and Medical Schools. Dr. Siegel practices full scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is a Pioneer of carbon dioxide laser surgical treatment of Tethered Oral Tissues (TOTs) and conducts clinical research as an investigator with Columbia University and City University of New York.Dr. Siegel is a leading TOTs Laser Surgeon in the United States, specializing in the areas of Feeding, Speech, Swallowing, Myofunctional Therapy, Sleep & Airway Disorders caused by Tethered Oral Tissues. Dr. Siegel research has been published by the journal, Pediatrics, on his findings of Aerophagia Induced Reflux in infants with Tongue and Lip Tie.Dr. Siegel is also an expert in the surgical placement of dental implants, bone grafting, tooth extractions, wisdom tooth removal, Laser Tongue and Lip Tie Surgery, TMJ disorders, facial pain, pathology of the face and jaws, & facial trauma. Dr. Siegel graduated as class valedictorian from the School of Dental Medicine at Stony Brook and earned his Medical Degree at Stony Brook School of Medicine. Dr. Siegel completed residencies in General Surgery and Oral and Maxillofacial at Stony Brook and Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
