ABOUT YANJIE CHENG
As an international education leader with over a decade of experience, I specialize in inclusive enrollment strategy, cross-cultural learning, and student success initiatives that bridge global diversity with institutional equity. Currently serving as the inaugural Assistant Director at Brown’s Global Brown Center, I lead high-impact programs that support internationally identified students while collaborating across departments to strengthen global engagement and belonging. My work is grounded in equity-minded leadership, informed by an Ed.D. in Leadership for Educational Equity, and sharpened by hands-on experience directing international enrollment, cross-functional program strategy, and national thought leadership through NAFSA and ChinaICAC. I am committed to advancing access and inclusion through strategic collaboration, sustainable systems, and data-informed practices. Alongside my institutional work, I am engaged in building and advising youth leadership initiatives that reimagine how students develop as global leaders. This includes founding IGS, an independent education initiative partnering with K–12 international schools, and serving as Founding Advisor to the KRGL Youth Conference. These efforts are grounded in the belief that young people are not only leaders of tomorrow, but active contributors today.While my work is centered on inspiring others, I am continually inspired in return. It is through these interconnected dimensions of my work that I find both purpose and meaning.
