ABOUT DOUG RIESS
Strong leadership and change management experience in finance and international operations with FTSE 100 and Fortune 100 companies. CPA with \"Big 4\" audit experience and MBA from the University of Tulsa- Having a unique blend of finance, systems, commercial and operational experience, I enjoy building structure and providing insights to manage and grow businesses. From 2016 to 2023, served as VP Finance / CFO for Southwest Electric Co,(a custom manufacturing / repair / service provider for electrical equipment) bringing the infrastructure, tools and insights needed to plan / navigate a sales growth multiple of 3X; and, through the COVID downturn, including global supply chain disruption and high-inflationary cost changes. Of course, this meant significant cost analysis and pricing strategies to sustain margins; while also navigating WFH, regulatory and labor market changes, and securing significant government funding / grants via ERC and employer tax deferrals. From 1995 to 2015, led financial and operational teams for GE Oil & Gas ESP (formerly Wood Group ESP), a leading oilfield service and equipment provider for electric submersible pump systems- Through 2011, led financial teams supporting operations through 16 years of growth (and downturns) including new legal entities in 20+ countries and a sales growth multiple of 10X, and culminating in the acquisition by GE Oil & Gas for $1.8 billion- Following the 2011 acquisition by GE, built and led the global Commercial Operations team, redesigned processes to align with GE, and defined the vision and tools to automate them in support of our global sales and service operations. My passion is working with operations to define solutions, for example: financial models and strategy for customer proposals; navigating the technical aspects of insurance, tax, legal, or accounting in support of potential new contracts; and developing the tools, diagnostics, processes and controls to manage existing operations.
