Recognized for innovation at the intersection of healthcare, public safety, and transportation, Ricardo Martinez, MD, FACEP, has driven transformative impact across sectors.As Chief Medical Officer for major healthcare organizations including Clinical Care Medical Centers and Adeptus Health (NYSE: ADPT), he instituted data-driven value-based care initiatives serving tens of thousands of patients by elevating quality, safety, and community-focused delivery, while eliminating costs. He has driven health system innovation by advancing distributed and integrated emergency care, telemedicine, and scalable efficiency models.Dr. Martinez, one of the longest-serving NHTSA Administrators, redefined traffic safety as a public health priority and revitalized the agency—setting national safety records, creating lasting cross-sector programs, and expanding the agency’s global impact. As a member of the Executive Committee of the Transportation Research Board, he continues to champion the role of transportation in mobility, health, and safety, while advancing data-driven, evidence-based approaches to modernize transportation design, deployment, and operations.Dr. Martinez’s leadership spans academic appointments at Stanford and Emory, influential board service, and the development of medical leadership academies.
