ABOUT RANJIT CHATTERJEE
Dr. Ranjit Chatterjee is a Professor in the Department of Vegetable and Spice Crops at Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya, West Bengal. With over two decades of experience in teaching, research and extension, his expertise lies in vegetable cultivation, organic farming, nutrient management and protected cultivation. He has successfully supervised multiple Ph.D. and M.Sc. students, many of whom have gone on to excel in academia, research, and industry. He holds a Ph.D. in Vegetable and Spice Crops from UBKV, an M.Sc. in Vegetable Crops from Dr. YSPUHF, Solan, and a B.Sc.(Ag.) Hons. from Visva Bharati, West Bengal. Through his work, Dr. Chatterjee continues to contribute significantly to the development of sustainable and innovative approaches in vegetable and spice crop cultivation.Dr. Chatterjee has led and contributed to several externally funded research projects, focusing on organic vegetable production, organic waste recycling and year-round protected cultivation of high-value crops. His extensive research output includes over 80 published research papers, 10 book chapters and numerous popular articles. A regular speaker at national and international conferences, he actively collaborates with research institutions and professional societies to advance horticultural science and sustainable agricultural practices.
