Key contributor to out-licensing of three small molecules viz. anticancer MALT1 inhibitor (Lupin & AbbVie), MEK inhibitor (Lupin & Boehringer Ingelheim) and adrenergic alpha blocker (Ranbaxy & Schwarz Pharma) for benign prostate hyperplasia. Significant contribution to discovery of other potential drug candidates entered advance clinical development stage including calcimimetic (CaSR modulator) for primary and secondary hyperparathyroidism in chronic kidney disease, alpha seven nicotinic acetyl choline receptor (α7 nAChR) modulator for cognition/memory, anticancer PRMT5 inhibitor and cell adhesion inhibitor for respiratory diseases. Contributed to discovery of advance leads and clinical candidates that entered IND enabling studies in the area of diabetes, cancer and inflammation, include GLP1R modulator, DPP4 inhibitor, PPAR modulators, PTP1B Inhibitors, Non-CDN STING agonist, SOS1 inhibitor, PI3Kdelta modulator and Dual PI3K delta/gamma modulators. Research experience and areas include endocrine disorders, chronic pain, autoimmune disorders, immuno-inflammatory disorders, respiratory diseases, bone metabolism, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular diseases, cardio-renal disorders, bone-mineral disorders, chronic kidney disease, oncology, erectile dysfunction & other urological complications. Extensive experience of preclinical modelling of human disease including preclinical efficacy, early discovery liability and safety pharmacology studies. Key member of team, responsible for filings and defending Investigational New Drug Applications (INDAs) for small molecules and natural/herbal (botanicals) products with regulatory agencies in India and abroad. Extensive experience of due diligence for in-licensing and out-licensing of potential drug candidates in different therapeutic areas. Presented and discussed new ideas and opportunities with various funding bodies and VCs in India and abroad. Rich experience of cross-functional team leadership, project mentoring, knowledge management, resource optimization and nurturing team to ensure success in timely manner. I had been part of New Drug Discovery and Development Research since inception and conceptualisation in both of my employer Organizations, Lupin Ltd and Ranbaxy Research Labs. Involved in setting up state-of-the-art non-clinical research labs including microbial containment area.
