Getting fitter isn’t just about exercise or diet. It all starts with your mindset; if you don’t change the way you think and feel about yourself, new habits won’t stick. I combine fitness coaching (in person and online) with psychological principles and techniques to keep you motivated and help you build confidence in your ability to make and maintain changes to your lifestyle. Yes, we’ll work on the physical side, but we’ll also tackle the beliefs, emotions and behaviours that are holding you back, and I’ll help you to find solutions that enable you to make lasting lifestyle changes. But let’s face it: no one likes being told what to do and people will only change if they want to. If you’re a health professional and you tend to shy away from conversations about behaviour change because they often feel forced, tense or unhelpful, listen up. I can coach you in Motivational Interviewing skills that you can use to engage, motivate and guide individuals to find solutions to their own problems and plan for change. Skin conditions can impact all aspects of life. Through rigorous research and collaboration with people living with skin conditions, I’m co-developing the MiDerm app designed to educate and support adults to live well in their own skin.
