Prashant is a founding Co-Director of the pan-university Institute for Sustainability, Founding Director of the Global Centre for Clean Air Research at the University of Surrey, Full Professor/Chair in Air Quality & Health, founder of Guildford Living Lab (https://tinyurl.com/GuildfordLL), Trustee at ZERO, Adjunct Prof at Trinity College Dublin, Guest Prof at Southeast Univ, and Distinguished Guest Prof Chonqing Univ. As an Associate Dean (International), he provided international leadership to the largest faculty. Earlier, he served as a Reader/Senior Lecturer/Lecturer. He obtained his PhD (Engg) from the University of Cambridge after winning a Cambridge-Nehru Scholarship and Overseas Research Scholarship award, and his Master\'s in Environmental Engineering & Management from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, with CGPA 9.8/10 & rank 1.Clarivate recognised him in the top 1% of the Global Highly Cited Researchers, 2022 & 2023. He won the University of Surrey\'s \"Researcher of the Year Award\" in 2017, the 2023 Haagen-Smit Prize for the best paper, and received the 2023 Haagen-Smit Clean Air Award from the California Air Resources Board—regarded as the \'Nobel Prize\' for air quality achievements—for his transformative contributions, impact, and exceptional leadership in the field.His fundamental and application-oriented cross-disciplinary research develops the interfaces between clean air, human health and smart/sustainable living in cities/megacities. His research projects focus on multidisciplinary areas, including air pollution monitoring/modelling, low-cost sensing, citizen science participation, nature-based solutions for climate change mitigation, and the development of innovative technological and passive (green infrastructure) solutions, tools, and guidance for both the developing and developed worlds.He authored >450 journal articles, with citations, h-index 87; i10index 395, secured £19M individual funding from >£45M projects, funded by the UKRI/EC/industry/charities/international funding bodies. He leads £1.5M RECLAIM Network Plus & £2M GP4Streets.He has developed a network of collaborators across four continents and works closely with industrial partners. He is Editor-in-Chief for ‘Atmosphere’, founding Speciality Chief Editor of Climate Change & Cities and serves editorial board of several journals (Scientific Reports).He advises local/international bodies and serves as a board member of UK/worldwide funding agencies. His research has featured in well-read media outlets (BBC/The Times).
