ABOUT PETER DR. DIEDRICH
Dr Peter Diedrich is a founding partner of DSC LEGAL and specialises in advising national and international clients on real estate investments in Germany, German-speaking countries, as well as in Central and Eastern Europe. For over 20 years, he has been advising clients on real estate transactions, investments and financing. In addition, Dr. Diedrich practices as a notary and has experience and expertise in corporate law (M&A) and international arbitration. After completing his training at Siemens, Dr Diedrich studied at the Free University of Berlin and passed the 2nd state law examination in Berlin in 1989. He worked as a lawyer and later partner in various international law firms, such as Olswang, where he built up the German practice as their first German managing partner. In 1994, he was awarded a doctorate in law by the law faculty of the Free University of Berlin. In 1997 he was appointed as a notary in Berlin. From April 2013 until mid-2023, Dr Diedrich was chairman of the Steering Committee of the Practice Group Real Estate at IR Global, probably the world\'s largest consultancy network with around consultancy firms in over 150 countries. Dr Diedrich was chairman of the Federal Commission for Legal Affairs of the German Association for Small and Medium-sized Businesses (BVMW) for 10 years (since 2014) – and since March 2024 one of the two deputy chairmen of the committee. He has also been chairman of the arbitration tribunal at the BVMW since 2015. He was also the chairman of the German-Polish Lawyers\' Association for over 20 years, and from 2022 its first deputy chairman - in March 2024 he resigned from his position on the DPJV board. Dr Diedrich initiated and conceptualised the ‘Job & Wohnen’ project, which aims to address the changes and challenges of the present day and develop and implement forward-looking solutions with the involvement of employer organisations, trade unions and social and welfare associations. On 28 June 2023, Dr. Diedrich was awarded the Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany by the Federal President, Mr Frank-Walter Steinmeier, in recognition of his outstanding personal services to the common good of the Federal Republic of Germany. In a subsequent ceremony, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, Mr Dariusz Pawłoś, presented Dr Diedrich with the highest Polish award, the Bene Merito Medal.
