ABOUT JORGE OTAÑEZ

I am an International Medical Graduate from Tijuana, Mexico, completed Family Medicine Residency at UCSD after successfully completing the UCLA IMG Program. For over 7 years I have worked in Federally Qualified Health Centers where I\'ve held several leadership positions with the ultimate goal of bringing high quality healthcare to underserved communities. I truly believe the healthcare should have no zip codes and everyone deserves exceptional care. I currently work as the Associate Chief Medical Officer for an excellent organization called TrueCare in North County San Diego, California. I plan to devote my career to improve access for the communities that we serve, on some days I wear the executive hat and my goal is to be part of decisions that are going to bring great benefits for our patients, on other days I wear the clinician hat where I provide the highest quality of care to my patients. In 2024 I became a Diplomate of the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine, I have been working on bringing Lifestyle Medicine programs to the communities we serve. Working toward certification in Culinary Medicine and Obesity Medicine as the next step in my career.
