My role is to provide the strategic vision and direction for the City Council Ecology Service in helping to deliver the Sheffield Green and Open Spaces Strategy and other relevant strategies- I lead and manage a team of four Ecologists- I act as an advocate for Sheffield and its ecology in local, regional, and national strategy development, debate, publicity, and best practice- My team advises internally and externally on a wide range of ecological issues from protected species, to species recovery projects and it hosts and manages the Sheffield Biological Records Centre- We provide an ecological advice service to planning, including planning policy, developmental control and Biodiversity Net Gain- We work in partnership with other organisations, the many Friends of Groups in the city, volunteers and community members.
