Greetings,I am Dr. Mya T. Bowen—a proud Hartford, CT native whose academic journey began with a GED and led to earning four degrees from the University of Hartford, including a Doctor of Education in Leadership, an MBA, and an MS in Professional Accounting.Today, I serve as Associate Professor and IST Program Coordinator at Roxbury Community College, where I also hold leadership roles as Secretary of the ACUERDO Board and Co-President of the Union Chapter.As an educationist, I’m passionate about bridging equity gaps and empowering students—especially in the fields of Information Systems Technology and digital literacy. My approach blends systems thinking, student-first values, and transformational leadership to foster meaningful change both in and beyond the classroom.Previously, I served as Acting Dean of the Liberal Arts and Health Careers Division, where I championed high-impact academic programs and advocated for inclusive, data-informed decision-making.My work centers on digital equity, institutional accountability, and collaborative growth.
