About Mary L. Washington
In Annapolis, Senator Washington was recently appointed to the Education Subcommittee of the Senate Committee on Education, Health, and the Environment. She also serves the Senate Chair for both the Joint Committee on Children, Youth, and Families as well as the Joint Committee on Ending Homelessness. In addition, she is a member of Women Legislators of Maryland and the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland and an Associate Member of the Latino Legislative Caucus. When not in Annapolis, Senator Washington is a part-time faculty member at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), where she teaches public policy and sociology.
