ABOUT JACK MAGGIORE

Dr. Jack Maggiore serves as the Medical Director of the Regional Core Laboratory and Regional Director of Point of Care Testing at Loyola University Medical Center. He is an Associate Professor in the Stritch School of Medicine and Parkinson School of Public Health and Health Sciences. Dr. Maggiore is a medical technologist, certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology. Dr. Maggiore received his Bachelor of Science degree with Highest Honors in Medical Laboratory Sciences, his Masters of Science degree in Clinical Chemistry and his Doctorate in Pathology from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Much of his research at UIC focused on the role of homocysteine in the prevention and pathogenesis of ischemic stroke. Concurrent to his pursuit for advanced degrees, Dr. Maggiore began his laboratory career at the UIC Medical Center, and served the Hospital Laboratory as a Medical Technologist, Supervisor, and Manager for 13 years. Dr. Maggiore holds patents for his product developments and innovative enhancements. Dr. Maggiore is active in the Association for Diagnostic Laboratory Medicine, where he served on the Education Core Committee and previously served as Chair of the Editorial Board for Clinical Laboratory News. He is the author of more than fifty publications and textbook chapters, and has presented his research findings at international scientific meetings.
