ABOUT LAWRENCE KING
I am a London-based, UK and European patent attorney and have been practising intellectual property law for more than twenty years. My current practice covers contentious and non-contentious patent matters in the fields of chemistry, chemical engineering, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. I work primarily with medium and large research-based companies to support their R&D and commercial development activities across the full patent life-cycle. Day-to-day activities include working with clients to provide assistance in relation to invention identification, patent filing strategy, publication clearances, patent drafting, patent prosecution and patent term extensions (including Supplementary Protection Certificates). A significant proportion of my caseload involves the management of complex, high value patent cases with which opposition proceedings and/or litigation are frequently associated. Having worked within the intellectual property department of a multinational pharmaceutical company for a number of years, I enjoy working closely with in-house counsel to support their businesses through the provision of pragmatic, commercially focused advice.
