ABOUT KIRAN CHEEDELLA

I help managers improve health and wellbeing in deprived neighbourhoods using community led solutions. With over 15 years of international experience in health workforce strengthening, program design, and clinical practice, I support organizations to deliver evidence-based, sustainable health interventions, with a focus on Community Health Worker (CHW) programs that reduce health inequalities. I combine strategic advisory, operational insight, and frontline experience to ensure programs are effective, participatory, and impactful.Current Focus • Research Capability Grant – Community Based Participatory Research into a CHW initiative in Bristol to address health inequalities in the most deprived communities, using a model inspired by Brazil. • Technical Advisor – Supporting King’s Global Health Partnerships on workforce strengthening and neighbourhood health development. • General Practitioner – Providing direct care to patients in deprived communities, maintaining close connection to frontline realities.Selected Highlights & Experience • Advised WHO, GIZ, NHS, VSO and other global partners on health workforce reform and capacity building. • Led international projects across South America, Africa, and Asia, including emergency response health teams. • Developed and implemented community- and neighbourhood-focused health models, integrating participatory research and co-design to empower communities. • Provided strategic advice, governance oversight, and stakeholder engagement in complex health system settings. • Experienced in translating global health evidence into local, actionable programs.How I Can Add ValueI help health organizations, boards, and leaders to: • Design and implement community health workforce programs with measurable impact. • Strengthen teams, governance, and neighbourhood health systems. • Ensure equity, trust, and community involvement are central to program success.
