About Jonathan Fisher
The most capable leaders I work with are operating in ways their hearts cannot sustain. The problem is structural.Modern leadership was designed to optimize analytical capacity while treating vitality, emotional awareness, connection, and purpose as separate from the real work. That fragmentation drives burnout, disengagement, mistrust, and attrition across industries and institutions regardless of resources or good intentions.I’m a cardiologist who has listened to more than hearts. That unusual vantage point led me to a deeper question: when people say “lead with your heart,” what do they actually mean?Across cultures, heart language converges around four dimensions: physical, emotional, social, and spiritual. These dimensions are physiologically interconnected, measurable, and validated across leadership research.Integration is how humans perform sustainably at the highest level.Over fifteen years, I’ve developed the Four-Dimensional Heart framework to help leaders embody that integration personally and design organizations that support it collectively. My work focuses on heart leadership, organizational design, physician and executive well-being, sustainable human performance, and the role of integrated human capacities in the age of AI.ORGANIZATIONAL WORKSystem-wide culture transformation, executive leadership development, and physician leadership programs focused on sustainable excellence, integration, and human-centered organizational design.BACKGROUNDClinical Physician Executive, Novant Health Heart & Vascular InstituteTrained at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Mount SinaiCardiologist (FACC)Delivered keynotes and leadership programs for organizations including Mass General Brigham, Stanford Medicine, IBM, Microsoft, and Bank of AmericaAuthor, Just One HeartContributor, Heart Leadership (Springer, 2026)Host, Fixing Healthcare podcastWriter, The Heart–Mind Connection newsletterCONNECTFor speaking or partnerships, message me directly.
