About Roberto D.

I\'m a writer who directs films, a filmmaker who builds brand narratives, a strategist who thinks in story arcs, and an immigrant who\'s spent his whole life learning how to say the same thing in a different language for a different room. I don\'t experience these as separate careers. They\'re one practice with several outputs. Translation is the skill underneath all my other skills. I make things that help people understand each other. I was born and raised in Romania, studied in Italy, Jordan, Czechia and on a Semester at Sea, and I\'m fluent in multiple languages. I\'ve spent my career moving between rooms that don\'t usually talk to each other: film sets and foundation offices, brand strategy sessions and editing bays, movement spaces and festival stages. The throughline is always the same: I take something complex and make it land for people who weren\'t in the room when it was made.

   My creative studio. I write, direct, produce, and edit films and branded content for purpose-driven organizations and companies. Clients include Understood.org, Skillshare, Domestika, WayUp, and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. The work spans brand storytelling, product naming, campaign narratives, educational content, and documentary filmmaking. I also wrote, directed, and edited FIDELITY (fidelitymovie.com), a feature film about artistic identity and technological displacement, which premiered at Chelsea Film Festival in 2025.
