The NeuroAffective Relational Model® (NARM®) is an approach to working with the effects of complex and developmental trauma.
NARM addresses complex and developmental trauma by focusing on the patterns of disconnection that formed early in life and that continue to shape our adult experiences. Rather than primarily focusing on traumatic events themselves, NARM works with the adaptive patterns and survival strategies people developed in response to early trauma—patterns that were once necessary, but now limit connection and well-being.
