I am a media academic, researcher, and broadcast professional with 25+ years of international experience across India, the UK, Europe, and North America. Specialising in multimedia journalism, radio broadcasting, and community media, I combine scholarly expertise with practical industry experience to shape future media professionals for the evolving global media landscape.I am deeply committed to exploring the intersection of media and migration. Having migrated from India and established myself in the UK, my passion lies in understanding the processes of migration and integration and their profound influence on media content and cultural narratives.My research focuses on media and migration, community radio, storytelling, and media histories in multicultural societies. My doctoral research on British Asian radio broadcasting culminated in a widely cited monograph, The Evolution of British Asian Radio in England (Springer Nature, 2023), alongside publications in Media History, Journal of Radio & Audio Media, and chapters in The Handbook of Radio (Bloomsbury) and other edited volumes. Beyond academia, I am an active community media advocate. For 15 years, I hosted \'Suhaana Safar\', a weekly live radio show on Southampton’s Asian and Ethnic Community Radio Station, Unity 101.1FM, where I also served as Deputy Station Manager. My professional background includes roles with Zee News Television India and India\'s Public Service Broadcaster All India Radio, as well as contributions to international media outlets such as American Public Radio (Free Speech Radio News, AARP Radio’s Prime Time Postscript, Sound Medicine, KCRW\'s UnFictional) and Canada’s Green Planet Monitor.
