ABOUT DREW KEAM

About me: 🦎🦋🪻My passion for the natural world and our environment has led me to become more driven to conserve and protect earth, its biodiversity and the species that inhabit it. As a result of this interest I have decided to further my studies at the university of Plymouth, where I am completing an undergraduate degree in conservation biology. This course has been tailored to provide a baseline of knowledge in order to prepare me for the field and enhance my contribution to reversing our environmental impacts and to protecting those that live within it.Volunteer and experience: 🦅Leading up to this stage, I have already showcased these contributions through a number of projects and volunteer opportunities. Some of these may include my work at the international volunteer HQ in Portugal, where I carried out a week of surveying and research along the coast to understand our marine impacts. Furthermore, my efforts in the local community have been tailored to protecting english beaches and forests through beach clean ups, woodland replanting and organic mental health gardens. Work experience in the field: Additionally, I have also dedicated a large portion of my time this summer to working as a seasonal tree planter in Canadian national forests. During this time I contributed an average of trees planted daily- a true test of physical and mental grit. Furthermore, my work as a summer horticulture student at the BC wildlife park helped to improve my understanding of native flora and fauna, invasive species and their management techniques. Keep an eye out here for more: Above are just some of the many efforts I have taken to drive my knowledge within the field, and I am excited to utilize these skills further to contribute to preserving earth and its species in the near future. Please take a further look below to see what other conservation efforts I’ve worked towards and am continuing to contribute to. ‼‼
