About Drew Harlien
Over the past 12 years, I have a proven track record of leading global risk management, product management, and business analytics teams for top-tier, multinational investment firms including Morgan Stanley, Barclays, and Macquarie. I have regularly demonstrated a strong ability to identify and connect seemingly disparate business processes to bridge gaps and provide innovative, comprehensive solutions. A major priority is to drive quality business development in the electronic and algorithmic trading space to increase profits and provide cost savings by tens of millions of dollars annually while fostering a compliant, risk-managed environment.Eight years of my career were spent covering Cash Equities, Swaps, Options, Futures, and other products on the #1 Equities Trading floor in America with the electronic trading business controls and risk management team, focusing on real-time oversight of $7+ billion USD in daily automated hedging and central risk book strategies, managing annual business certifications and self assessments, heading cross-functional product management for internally developed risk control and anomalistic trading detection systems, and solving real-time and strategic problems in an extremely fast-paced environment.Currently, I partner with key stakeholders across the Commodities and Global Market businesses globally and apply a deep understanding of international electronic trading requirements (FINRA, SEC, APRA, FCA, PRA, MiFIDII, CFTC, etc.) to identify opportunities and drive strategic business development. As the eTrading subject matter expert, I provide relationship management with key vendors and business ownership over the trading algorithms provided via their platforms. In addition, I assist with the onboarding of new sources of liquidity and the approval and deployment of new algorithmic trading strategies.
