About Drew Douglass
I am a senior at Miami University pursuing a B.S. in Data Analytics with a concentration in Sports Analytics. My background blends hands-on experience in financial markets with leadership in athletics and student organizations, all driven by a passion for data and competition. In Summer 2024, I interned at W.H. Trading LLC in Chicago as an Analyst Intern in the SOFR (Secured Overnight Financing Rate) department. I worked alongside traders and quants to develop and optimize strategies in short-term interest rate markets, analyzing market data, backtesting algorithms, and supporting risk management model enhancements. In Summer 2023, I interned with Ambrosino Brothers Brokerage, where I gained foundational experience in option pricing and market making. I supported daily trading and risk operations, applying my data analytics skills to assist with real-time decision-making. At Miami, I served as President and Captain of the Miami Men’s Club Hockey Team—Miami’s oldest hockey team. This role requires over 20 hours of weekly commitment, including travel, scheduling, and team leadership. During my junior year, I also studied abroad in Luxembourg, serving as the Vice President of the Study Abroad Student Council gaining international perspective while staying engaged with student leadership. I am a member of Sigma Chi fraternity, and these experiences have helped me strengthen my time management, leadership, and communication skills. I take pride in pairing analytical thinking with strong interpersonal abilities and am passionate about business and sports analytics. I’m proficient in Excel and R, and skilled in Python.
