Doctoral dissertation concerned the development of a novel material technology for the reconstruction of osteochondral tissue in osteoarthritic joints. I garnered deep experience in composite materials processing and in studying structure-property relationships using a plethora of advanced characterization techniques. I then studied the ability of these materials to promote the formation of osteochondral tissue in vitro and in vivo using a novel fluorescent reporter cell system. This work resulted in three first author and one second author publication(s).
