About Drew Shusterman
I am a sophomore at the University of South Carolina, currently pursuing a degree in Biomedical Engineering while on the Pre-Med track. I\'m a student within the South Carolina Honors College as well. I was born and raised in Cranford, New Jersey, and I love to play tennis, hike, play chess, ski, and cook.From a young age, I have been interested in the medical field, so I am pursuing a path that will gear me toward becoming a physician. However, I have always been fascinated by math and science which is why I am pursuing an engineering degree. Combining my interest in medicine and my love for STEM, I decided that biomedical engineering would be a great fit for me and provide me with the knowledge I need to become a great physician.Throughout my next few years at the University of South Carolina Honors College, I hope to gain experience in the medical field through internships, shadowing, and research. These outlets will help me shape my path in medicine and introduce me to subsets of the medical field that I am interested in. I hope to be exposed to imaging technologies, activity monitoring devices, and advanced analysis tools through biomedical engineering research labs in order to get a better understanding of human physiology and how the body functions.
