About Divya Parashar

I am a Psychotherapist & Life Coach with a passion for working with individuals, tapping into their psychological strengths and characteristics to enable them to thrive and prosper, hence moving away from focusing solely on illness and pathology. I have been working for over two decades, enabling people to achieve a state of well-being and purposeful living, armed with compassion; powerful, insight oriented communication, and scientifically grounded psychological techniques. Whatever be the roadblocks: stress, anxiety, despair/sadness/depression, one can truly thrive, by working through these bottlenecks. I am passionate about cultivating mindfulness, empathy, hope, & resilience in everyday living. The love for my craft makes me focus on building an effective, co-creative therapeutic relationship, where individuals feel safe to speak their mind and heart. I’ve conducted research studies in the field of rehabilitation psychology, particularly in the areas of hope, psychological adjustment, and sexual functioning after a spinal cord injury which have been published in peer reviewed journals. I have also written chapters for the \"ISCoS Textbook on Comprehensive Management of Spinal Cord Injuries.\" My love for writing has also led me to actively pursue blogging, publishing extensively in mainstream media on topics of mental health and fitness, and co-authoring a book called “Move: Get Fit in 15 Weeks.” Areas of Expertise- Psychotherapy and counseling in areas of stress, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and oft cited “existential crises.” - Transformational life coaching & mentoring - Corporate wellness and coaching - Building motivation and self-efficacy - The biopsychosocial approach to pain management - Psychosocial adjustment to chronic illnesses and disabilities. I am a fitness enthusiast, a long distance runner, who strongly believes that optimum health and fitness comes from our interactions—with our bodies, our minds, our selves, and the environment. I use my own experiential learning in dealing with pain and injuries to enable others to perform at their peak. My core philosophy is that wholesome fitness is like running a marathon: it’s not a race against time, against opponents, or even against yourself. It’s about being at your best—in body, mind and soul.
