About Debra Gates

With more than 20 years of industry experience, I joined CAPTRUST in 2017 and serve as a manager on the advice and wellness team, which works directly with retirement plan participants. In this role, I use my experience in strategic planning and knowledge of the industry to support financial advisors across the firm. In particular, I design, develop, and coordinate the training curriculum focused on our participant advice and wellness offering. I also serve as a content contributor for, and talent in, our CAPTRUST videos.I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from Pepperdine University, a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix, and a Doctor of Education Organization Leadership degree from Pepperdine University. I am a seasoned practitioner scholar, published academic educator, and applied researcher in organizational leadership and business management. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends, cooking, reading, singing, attending live jazz concerts, and watching classic black and white movies.
