ABOUT DAMIEN YEO

I am currently working as a Consultant in Paediatric Ophthalmology at Alder Hey Children\'s Hospital where I spend most of my working week. I perform retinopathy of prematurity screening and treatment at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Liverpool Women\'s Hospital. I also see and treat adult strabismus patients at St Paul\'s Eye Unit, Royal Liverpool University Hospital.After completing my medical degree at the University of Manchester, I completed my general Ophthalmology training in the Wales deanery and spent my final year in Cardiff specialising in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. I then completed further subspecialty interests in complex paediatric ophthalmology diseases in the tertiary centres of Great Ormond Street Hospital, Royal London Hospital, and Moorfields Eye Hospital. I am also interested in clinical research as well as medical education and have a very keen interest in bringing traditionally adult specific technologies into the world of paediatric eyes.Some of my clinical interests include: early onset infantile esotropia, retinopathy of prematurity, paediatric retinovascular diseases, visual development, paediatric neuro-ophthalmology, congenital cataract and rare developmental/genetic disorders.
