Founder of the Cuyabeno Lodge, operated by Neotropic Turis, the first ecotourism lodge in the Amazon region of Ecuador. When the continuity of the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve was threatened by invading smallholders, he advised the government to initiate ecotourism as an alternative income generating source. Being quite remote, a lodging facility was essential and on request by the government he rounded up capital and built the Cuyabeno Lodge.
