ABOUT CHERISSE HOYTE

Cherisse is an Academic Director within Coventry University Group and campus director for CU Coventry. Her strategic portfolio is Curriculum Development and Transnational Education (TNE).Prior to this, Cherisse was the Academic Director for the CU London Dagenham and Greenwich campuses.Cherisse has also previously worked within Faculty, heading up the Entrepreneurship Subject Group as Curriculum Lead (Associate Professor) and was part of the Senior Leadership Team in the School of Management as well as a Director of Enterprise Educators UK.She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), and an External Examiner for the University of Nottingham.Cherisse has also held various committee roles, Co-Chair of the Research Enriched Learning Staff Development Task and Finish Group, and the Black Excellence in Academia committee. She is also an external subject expert for Teesside University and Keele University.Her research interests are in new venture creation and the cognitive and socio-material processes aspiring entrepreneurs experience as they navigate the boundaries between venture idea and venture formation. She has published on the sense receiving processes of nascent entrepreneurs in International Small Business Journal (ISBJ) and on the psychological characteristics of artisan entrepreneurs in International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior & Research. Her most recent publication in International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior & Research explores identity changes and how aspiring entrepreneurs navigate the boundaries between founder identity and organisational identity.
