National Veterinary Response Team is a federally deployed disaster assistance team.(changed from VMAT in 2007). We are deployed when a national disaster is declared and the veterinary infrastructure is damaged. Primary mission is to provide relief to the local or state Veterinary Medical infrastructure following an emergency or disaster.

ABOUT BETH HIRSCHFELD

I am a wildlife veterinarian and am President of the Florida Wildlife Rehabilitators Association. I am a licensed Veterinary Acupuncturist certified through IVAS since 2004. I do a lot of surgery for humane organizations, rescue groups and animal controls. I also am a veterinary medical officer of the NVRT 3 formerly VMAT 3, a federally deployed veterinary response team and for VMAT which is a disaster response team, now through the AVMA.Specialties: Acupuncture, Wildlife, Aquatic Animals, Exotics.
