Responsibilities:• CEI-Bois and EOS: Technical Advisor• International EPD System (Environdec): Member of the Technical Committee • European Commission: Technical Secretariat on the Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) pilot study on thermal insulation • BSI and CEN TC 350 Technical Committee member, developing the BS guide to sustainable use of materials (BS 8095) and biomaterials standards and Construction LCA and EPD standards.Projects:• Committee on Climate Change: Research into the potential for using bioenergy resources in construction• National Composites centre, Composites UK: Innovate UK funded project into the impact of composites recycling• DACOMAT: Horizon 2020 funded Project on damage controlled composite materials• EPD verification: 300+ EPD verifications for the International EPD System• EPD production: Clients include: Foster + Partners, Benchmark, Saint-Gobain, Accsys technologies, Elopak and Aspen Aerogels.• Belgian Federal Government: Critical review of EPD methodologies for the LCA:TIM project and peer review.• Marks and Spencer, Wells Plastics and The BioComposite Centre: Critical assessment of novel bio-based packaging material.• CAPEM (INTERREG funded): Development of user friendly LCA methodology for the European construction industry.• UPM Tilhill: Energy and Carbon balance of forest residue use in CHP.• BLP insurance: Technical advisor on the Butterfly Project. • The World Bank: Policy development exercise, reviewing all major worldwide carbon footprint methodologies, with an agricultural and developing country focus. • LCA based research projects: Edinburgh Napier, NNFCC and DECC.• Delivery of private workshops: Techniquest, BSW Timber, Lotus Engineering.• Bespoke training in LCA techniques and Software (SimaPro, Gabi, TEAM) for various international clients including; ACCIS Bristol University, the National Composite Centre, National University of Ireland, Galway, Agrodome, VIBE, CD2E, HBZ-Munster and Bioregional.
