ABOUT ALEXANDER K. MEININGER

Dr. Meininger is a Board Certified, Fellowship trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with added Sports Medicine qualification. He understands sports and activities are a lifestyle. His #1 goal is to return patients\' function at home, at work; on the trail or on the field. His philosophy is to exhaust advanced rehabilitation and non-operative therapies before considering surgery. Dr. Meininger practices minimally invasive orthopaedics including the latest arthroscopic techniques to treat disorders of the hip, knee, shoulder and elbow. Dr. Meininger is a recognized leader and educator in his field. The prestigious American Orthopaedic Association has named him an Emerging Leader; and the Arthroscopy Association of North America a Master Instructor of Arthroscopy. He is a nationally respected author having edited, authored and contributed to numerous scientific articles. His research is regularly selected for presentation at regional and national orthopaedic meetings. Dr. Meininger completed Sports Medicine Fellowship at the prestigious University of Chicago. He is a U.S. Ski Team Physician and former Team Physician for the Chicago Fire MLS, Chicago Sky WNBA, as well the University of Chicago, Concordia University and University of Illinois at Chicago collegiate athletes. Additionally he provides sports medicine consulting for Velonews, the Journal of Competitive Cycling; SRAM; and Western Spirit Tours.
